CHEMICAL SKIN PEELS
HOW DO CHEMICAL FACE PEELS WORK? Chemical peels are used on skins which are sun damaged, wrinkled, blemished, acne scarred or blotchy. They can revert the skin to its original youthful state creating a more evenly toned and textured appearance. Skin will look tighter and more youthful than before but it is important to note that chemical peel cannot remove all facial flaws. Deeper lines, wrinkles and other flaws may require a course of peels or indeed subsequent treatments. A small amount of acid is put onto the skin (the acid strength and type varies depending on the peel strength hence the FREE consultation). This is left on the skin for a short period. It is then neutralised and more acid is reapplied. The process takes 10-15 minutes to complete and the sensation is often described as a ’stingle’. Half way between a sting and a tingle meaning that it is not painful to have done.

SO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I COME FOR CHEMICAL SKIN PEEL TREATMENT? When you first come into one of our many clinics you will be given a FREE consultation by your COSMEdoctor, who will then advise you on the best strength peel for your concerns. It is important that we see the client in person so we can tailor their treatment accordingly. Clients are given a 3 to 4 week preparation home kit to use pre skin peel in order to intensify the result. After your peel you will experience some ‘down-time’ where the skin will come away leaving fresh skin below. This down-time can vary between 1-14 days depending on the peel strength you opt for. We aim to give every client a treatment journey personal to their needs and with this in mind, post treatment you will be invited back for a FREE review to ensure you are happy with your result and to help you to maintain your new skin with ongoing treatment care advise.
